REVERIE
By Utkarsh Sharma
1. Standing with you beside a river,
Cold and calm, where the heavens have mirrored.
I, in a reverie, fantasizing this dream with you
Is one of those total which are just outnumbered.
2. Your deep black eyes where lies my earth,
and your pleasing countenance, oh yes! the heart has surrendered.
Your white calm face, an example of an exquisite sight,
nothing can pass by without being delight.
3. A kind of sweetness and languor in the air,
heavens showering tulips on the angel who resides here.
If only i could take a picture for you to see,
How beautiful you really are to me.
4. Being with you is what gives me felicity,
with you by my side I can do anything, audaciously.
Will win lozenges plots and thaw the highest mountains,
As long as you're with me there's nothing i can't attain.
5. A sudden, deplorable, thrust, which came as a tocsin,
was something bad enough to land me back to right senses.
My fastidious eyes, still rummaging for you,
might have forgotten the anecdote which was still new.
6. That night when my talks started exasperating you,
you remarked, "You are not for me and I am not made for you."
I begged and begged only to know how obstinate were you,
you asked me not to be subversive and to leave you too.
7. And so i went back to my place with that lassitude on my face,
Pulled a paper and rolled a pen to start a new race.
But mind was swerved and I went on a spree,
and was lost and lost in your reverie.
